We’re Don and Nina. We welcome you to read about our sailing adventures aboard S/V Enjoy.
We are 100 Ton Inland USCG Captains, Commodores in the Seven Seas Cruising Association and members of the Ocean Cruising Club, the Panama Posse, and its subgroup the Pacific Posse.
A bit of history, in 2002-2003, we cruised on Enjoy I, a 1993 Lagoon 42 TPI with our children. After returning to Maryland, we worked until such time that we could live the dream again. We sold our home, and divested ourselves of almost all our material possessions.
When the kids were launched, we sold our home again, divested almost all of our material possessions again, and took off. From 2017 through 2024, we cruised most of the year, working remotely to top off the cruising kitty. Enjoy II was a 2012 Lagoon 421 catamaran with three cabins and three heads, a center salon, large outside cockpit with seating for 10 and a separate lounging area in the front of the boat.
It took us seven years to travel from the US to the Bahamas, Jamaica, Providencia and San Andres, Columbia, Panama (both coasts), Costa Rica, and then ended this phase of our sailing journey in French Polynesia.
Nina’s Debut Novel
While Don and Nina are CLODS (Cruisers Living on Land), Nina is writing a novel based on our exploits. A COVID project, Nina’s novel will be based on where we traveled, with a strong, female lead. The working title is: Uncharted Waters: From First Mate to Captain of Her Own Life. It’s a novel about losing the plan — and finding yourself.
