Remind me, how long has it been since you left? 7 years!
While we purchased Enjoy in 2015, we set off from Annapolis in 2017 and began traveling full time. Yes, it’s been seven years on the waters. For those of you who want more detail, click here on Noforeignland.com to zoom into the various countries and islands more closely. But, in a nutshell: US East Coast, Bahamas, Jamaica, Providencia, San Andreas, Panama, Costa Rica, the South Pacific (Marquesas islands, Tuamotu archipelago, and finally the Society islands.

What did you do with everything?
We packed nine bags totaling 490 lbs and either left or donated the rest. We only forgot one major item; the new owners messaged us a picture of Don’s Turkshead wedding band from AGA Correa! So, we put out a note on the Cruisers Coconut Milk Run WhatsApp group, and through that, it was picked up by some cruiser friend and will make it’s way back to the US sometime in September.
Our good friends Mary and Kevin Ewing rom SV Pisces were kind enough to drive us twice to the hotel since all the bags didn’t fit into their little rental car, and Randy from S/V Parem brought the muscle.

Give a fisherman a speargun, and get a lovely surprise of Tahitian pearls!
While cruisers steer away from spearguns due to Ciguatera, a neighbor in the Marina is a semi-pro fisherman. We know because we were lucky to receive some fantastic swordfish from a big catch he shared with folks in the marina. Now with my Pathos Open Pro 100 cm speargun, he’s sure to catch reef fish he knows are safe to eat. His girlfriend Ana was so appreciative, she insisted on coming by with a beautiful set of 12 Tahitian pearls – easily AA if not A grade quality in my opinion!

Give an Italian friend sewing and cooking materials, get handmade pot covers and a dinner with Tiramisu!
How do you get a cast iron skillet from Tahiti to Moorea to our good Sicilian Finnish friend Valle? Why, you give it to another boat heading that way. Nilla and Anders Ullman on SY Yaghan sailed from Tahiti to Mo’orea bringing Vali and Mikko Jaakkosdottir on S/Y Victoria Don’s cast iron pan. They become friends and we get a funny Instagram post saying “Pan Pan”! Just a different kind of one 😉

What will we do now?

While Don and I continued our work professionally this whole time, we do have a lot more time on our hands. No more broken heads or wind in our sails!
Many of you may know that I started writing a novel to capture the travels and experiences we’ve had.
